Bruuun. (Brooown. This was said about a brown small rather thin mattress I was going to have as a yoga mattress in a dream. It was not terry cloth but a fabric resembling terry. I do not exercise yoga but I do movements similar to those in the yoga but I call it "asana" because I do not practice other religions than messianic christianity.)

Dream: I was playing in the same soccer team I played in as a junior. Saint Peter's isthmus (AIF?). Another woman with the name "Mary Silver beach" was playing with the juniors. One senior was allowed to play with the juniors. I was her reserv because I am a senior too. Later she showed me a hand written compendium about a New Age-oriented man´s beliefs of christianity. The title contained the word High-something with black text and "Jehowasat"(?) as well. I was skeptical about this New-Age man. On top the compendium there was smaller booklets I think with horses' genealogical tables. I think there were four of them and they had to do with friesian horses I think. She also told me she was in charge of a big camping in sandy cove. After this I saw this man and a woman on main square in the city I live in. The woman did not want other woman to follow him. I saw a brown bath towel in terry that was folded so that there was three layers with three outer-ends. When the pair had reached about going around the square half way the square turned into a big church (the church that actually in on the square was not included in this church. It was right outside. One of the church's exterior walls, the front wall, was one of the new church´s internal walls. Now people came from all directions I think singing the same song in different voices. The middle of the floor was made of stone and was raised like a hill and everyone was going toward the middle of the hill. I started to sing last of all and my voice was loud and clear and I had the highest voice. I felt as if the heavens of God helped me to sing like this.

Dream: A wall inside a building with Egyptic motive i clay that was not yet dry. The motive was among other a human being full body seen in profile characteristic egyptian. A man. He was turned to the left. Behind the clay was two cash boxes. One of them bigger than the other. I think the bigger one was red and the smaller one was green or yellow I think. Me and some others was then canoeing and I thought the cash boxes was stabilizing the canoe. The others disagread. Later in the dream we opened the boxes and I saw a quite a big pile of money notes that was not swedish but I also saw a little smaler pile of money notes that were swedish 20 kronor but with two pictures of Selma Lagerlöf instead of one.

Born at Mårbacka[1] (now in Sunne Municipality) an estate in Värmland in western Sweden, Lagerlöf was the daughter of Lieutenant Erik Gustaf Lagerlöf and Louise Lagerlöf née Wallroth. The couple's fourth child, she was born with a hip injury. An early sickness left her lame in both legs, although she later recovered. She was a quiet child, more serious than others her age, with a deep love of reading. The sale of Mårbacka following her father's illness in 1884 had a serious impact on her development.

Lagerlöf worked as a country schoolteacher in Landskrona for nearly 10 years while honing her story-telling skills, with particular focus on the legends she had learned as a child. Through her studies at the Royal Women's Superior Training Academy in Stockholm, Lagerlöf reacted against the realism of contemporary Swedish language writers such as August Strindberg. She began her first novel, Gösta Berling's Saga, while working as a teacher in Landskrona. Her first break as a writer came when she submitted the first chapters to a literary contest, and won a publishing contract for the whole book. She received financial support of Fredrika Limnell, who wished to enable her to concentrate on her writing.

In 1894 she met Sophie Elkan, also a writer, who became her friend and companion. Judging from letters between them, Lagerlöf fell deeply in love with her.[2] Over many years, Elkan and Lagerlöf critiqued each other's work. Lagerlöf wrote of Elkan's strong influence on her work, often disagreeing sharply with the direction Lagerlöf wanted to take in her books.
A 1900 visit to the American Colony in Jerusalem became the inspiration for Lagerlöf's book by that name.[3] By 1895, she gave up her teaching to devote herself to her writing. With the help of proceeds from Gösta Berlings Saga and a scholarship and grant, she made two journeys which were largely instrumental in providing material for her next novel. With Elkan, she traveled to Italy, and she also traveled to Palestine and other parts of the East.[4] In Italy, a legend of a Christ Child figure that had been replaced with a false version inspired Lagerlöf's novel Antikrists mirakler (The Miracles of the Antichrist). Set in Sicily, the novel explores the interplay between Christian and socialist moral systems. However, most of Lagerlöf's stories were set in Värmland.
She moved in 1897 to Falun, and there met Valborg Olander, who became her literary assistant, friend, and associate. Elkan's jealousy of Olander was a complication in the relationship. Olander, a teacher, was also active in the growing women's suffrage movement in Sweden.

In 1919 Lagerlöf sold all the movie rights to all of her as-yet unpublished works to Swedish Cinema Theatre (Svenska Biografteatern), and so over the years many movie versions of her works were made. During the 'Golden Age' of Swedish silent cinema her works were used in film by Victor Sjöström, Mauritz Stiller and other Swedish cinema pioneers.[5] Sjöström's retelling of Lagerlöf's tales about rural Swedish life, in which his camera recorded the detail of traditional village life and the Swedish landscape, provided the basis of some of the most poetic and memorable products of early silent cinema. Jerusalem was adapted in 1996 into an internationally acclaimed film Jerusalem.

In 1909 Selma Lagerlöf won the Nobel Prize "in appreciation of the lofty idealism, vivid imagination and spiritual perception that characterize her writings".[6] But the decision was preceded by harsh internal power struggle within the Swedish Academy.[7] In 1914 she also became a member of the Swedish Academy, the body that awards the Nobel Prize in literature. In 1928, she received an honorary doctorate from the University of Greifswald's Faculty of Arts. At the start of World War II, she sent her Nobel Prize medal and gold medal from the Swedish Academy to the government of Finland to help raise money to fight the Soviet Union.[8] The Finnish government was so touched that it raised the necessary money by other means and returned her medal to her.
Two hotels are named after her in Östra Ämtervik in Sunne, and her home, Mårbacka, is preserved as a museum. Since 1992, her portrait has been featured on the Swedish 20 kronor-bill.

Dreamed that the city I live in was in China. Chinese maffia was present in some way. There were some kind of helmet of cloth. There were also some kind of card the same size as a drivers license or credit card. If one inserted the card in the helmet the person inside dissapeared. If one held the card close to it without inserting a person appeared that one could talk to. One could see the person appear by imprint on the inside of the helmet cloth and in the air. One saw the face vaguely. Many died in the dream.

Presbyterianism refers to a number of Christian churches adhering to the Calvinist theological tradition within Protestantism, which are organized according to a characteristic Presbyterian polity. Presbyterian theology typically emphasizes the sovereignty of God, the authority of the Scriptures, and the necessity of grace through faith in Christ. Presbyterianism originated primarily in Scotland. Scotland ensured Presbyterian "church government" in the Acts of Union in 1707 [1] which created "Great Britain". In fact, most Presbyterians found in England can trace a Scottish connection, and the Presbyterian denomination was also taken to North America mostly by Scots and Scots-Irish immigrants[citation needed]. The Presbyterian denominations in Scotland hold to the theology of Calvin and his immediate successors, although there is a range of theological views within contemporary Presbyterianism.
Modern Presbyterianism traces its institutional roots back to the Scottish Reformation. Local congregations are governed by Sessions made up of representatives of the congregation, a conciliar approach which is found at other levels of decision-making (Presbytery, Synod and General Assembly). Theoretically, there are no bishops in Presbyterianism; however, some groups in Eastern Europe, and in ecumenical groups, do have bishops. The office of elder is another distinctive mark of Presbyterianism: these are specially ordained non-clergy who take part in local pastoral care and decision-making at all levels. The office of deacon is geared toward the care of members, their families, and the surrounding community. In some congregations active elders and deacons serve a three-year term and then rotate off for at least a year. The offices of pastor, elder, and deacon all commence with ordination; once a person is ordained, he holds that title for the rest of his life. An individual may serve as both an elder and a deacon.
The roots of Presbyterianism lie in the European Reformation of the 16th century, with the example of John Calvin's Geneva being particularly influential. Most Reformed churches who trace their history back to Scotland are either Presbyterian or Congregationalist in government. In the twentieth century, some Presbyterians played an important role in the Ecumenical Movement, including the World Council of Churches. Many Presbyterian denominations have found ways of working together with other Reformed denominations and Christians of other traditions, especially in the World Communion of Reformed Churches. Some Presbyterian churches have entered into unions with other churches, such as Congregationalists, Lutherans, Anglicans, and Methodists.

Presbyterian denominations derive their name from the Greek word presbýteros (πρεσβύτερος), "elder." (Presbyterian church in Acts 14:23, 20:17, Titus 1:5).
The earliest Christian church consisted of Jews in the first century who had known Jesus Christ and heard his teachings. It gradually grew and spread from the Middle East to other parts of the world, though not without controversy and hardship among its supporters.
During the 4th century, after more than 300 years of repression and sometimes fierce persecution under various Roman emperors, the church became established as a political as well as a spiritual power under the Emperor Constantine. Theological and political disagreements, however, served to widen the rift between members of the eastern (Greek-speaking) and western (Latin-speaking) branches of the church. Eventually the western portions of Europe came under the religious and political authority of the Roman Catholic Church. Eastern Europe and parts of Asia came under the authority of the Eastern Orthodox Church.

John Knox
In western Europe, the authority of the Roman Catholic Church remained largely unquestioned until the Renaissance in the 15th century. The invention of the printing press in Germany around 1440 made it possible for common people to have access to printed materials including the Bible. The public availability of the Bible encouraged private devotion away from the structure of the Roman Catholic Church. Printed materials also served to expose the populace to religious thinkers who had begun to question the authority and integrity of the Church. One such figure, Martin Luther, a German Augustinian Friar and professor, enumerated this dissent in his 95 Theses. In 1517, Martin Luther famously posted his grievances on a church door in Wittenberg, Germany. This moment is said to have marked the beginning of the Protestant Reformation, a theological movement intended to reform the Church.[2] As the Catholic Church resisted the reformers, the Church split and different theological movements bore different denominations. Presbyterianism was especially influenced by the French/Swiss theologian, John Calvin, who is credited with the development of Reformed theology and the work of John Knox, a Scotsman who studied with Calvin in Geneva, Switzerland and brought his teachings back to Scotland. The Presbyterian church traces its ancestry back primarily to England and Scotland. In August of 1560 the Scottish Parliament adopted the Protestant Confession of Faith as the creed of the Scottish Kingdom. In December of that year, the First Book of Discipline was published, outlining important doctrinal issues but also establishing regulations for church government, including the creation of ten ecclesiastical districts with pointed superintendents which later became known as presbyteries.[3]
Among the early church fathers, it was noted that the offices of elder and bishop were identical, and were not differentiated until later, and that plurality of elders was the norm for church government.[citation needed] St. Jerome (347-420) "In Epistle Titus", vol. iv, said, "Elder is identical with bishop; and before the urging of the devil gave rise to factionalism in religion, so much that it was being said among the people, 'I am of Paul, I of Apollos, I of Cephas', the churches were governed by a joint council of elders. After it was... decreed throughout the world that one chosen from among the presbyters should be placed over the others."[4] This observation was also made by Chrysostom (349-407) in "Homilia i, in Phil. i, 1" and Theodoret (393-457) in "Interpret ad. Phil. iii", 445.
Presbyterianism was first described in detail by Martin Bucer of Strasbourg, who believed that the early Christian church implemented presbyterian polity.[5] The first modern implementation was by the Geneva church under the leadership of John Calvin in 1541.[5]
[edit]Characteristics

Presbyterians distinguish themselves from other denominations by doctrine, institutional organization (or "church order") and worship; often using a "Book of Order" to regulate common practice and order. The origins of the Presbyterian churches were in Calvinism, which is no longer emphasized in some contemporary branches. Many branches of Presbyterianism are remnants of previous splits from larger groups. Some of the splits have been due to doctrinal controversy, while some have been caused by disagreement concerning the degree to which those ordained to church office should be required to agree with the Westminster Confession of Faith, which historically serves as an important confessional document - second only to the Bible, yet directing particularities in the standardization and translation of the Bible - in Presbyterian churches.
Presbyterians place great importance upon education and life-long learning. Continuous study of the scriptures, theological writings, and understanding and interpretation of church doctrine are embodied in several statements of faith and catechisms formally adopted by various branches of the church, often referred to as 'subordinate standards'. It is generally considered that the point of such learning is to enable one to put one's faith into practice; some Presbyterians generally exhibit their faith in action as well as words, by generosity, hospitality, and the constant pursuit of social justice and reform, as well as proclaiming the gospel of Christ.

Presbyterian government is by councils (known as courts) of elders. Teaching and ruling elders are ordained and convene in the lowest council known as a session or consistory responsible for the discipline, nurture, and mission of the local congregation. Teaching elders (pastors) have responsibility for teaching, worship, and performing sacraments. Pastors are called by individual congregations. A congregation issues a call for the pastor's service, but this call must be ratified by the local presbytery.
Ruling elders are usually laymen (and laywomen in some denominations) who are elected by the congregation and ordained to serve with the teaching elders, assuming responsibility for nurture and leadership of the congregation. Often, especially in larger congregations, the elders delegate the practicalities of buildings, finance, and temporal ministry to the needy in the congregation to a distinct group of officers (sometimes called deacons, which are ordained in some denominations). This group may variously be known as a 'Deacon Board', 'Board of Deacons' 'Diaconate', or 'Deacons' Court'. These are sometimes known as "presbyters" to the full congregation.
Above the sessions exist presbyteries, which have area responsibilities. These are composed of teaching elders and ruling elders from each of the constituent congregations. The presbytery sends representatives to a broader regional or national assembly, generally known as the General Assembly, although an intermediate level of a synod sometimes exists. This congregation / presbytery / synod / general assembly schema is based on the historical structure of the larger Presbyterian churches, such as the Church of Scotland or the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.); some bodies, such as the Presbyterian Church in America and the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, skip one of the steps between congregation and General Assembly, and usually the step skipped is the Synod. The Church of Scotland has now abolished the Synod.
Presbyterian governance is practised by Presbyterian denominations and also by many other Reformed churches.

Presbyterianism is historically a confessional tradition. This has two implications. The obvious one is that confessional churches express their faith in the form of "confessions of faith," which have some level of authoritative status. However this is based on a more subtle point: In confessional churches, theology is not solely an individual matter. While individuals are encouraged to understand Scripture, and may challenge the current institutional understanding, theology is carried out by the community as whole. It is this community understanding of theology that is expressed in confessions.[6]
However, there has arisen a spectrum of approaches to "confessionalism". The manner of subscription, or the degree to which the official standards establish the actual doctrine of the church, turns out to be a practical matter. That is, the decisions rendered in ordination and in the courts of the church largely determine what the church means, representing the whole, by its adherence to the doctrinal standard.
Some Presbyterian traditions adopt only the Westminster Confession of Faith as the doctrinal standard to which teaching elders are required to subscribe, in contrast to the Larger and Shorter catechisms, which are approved for use in instruction. Many Presbyterian denominations, especially in North America, have adopted all of the Westminster Standards as their standard of doctrine which is subordinate to the Bible. These documents are Calvinistic in their doctrinal orientation, although some versions of the Confession and the catechisms are more overtly Calvinist than some other, later American revisions. The Presbyterian Church in Canada retains the Westminster Confession of Faith in its original form, while admitting the historical period in which it was written should be understood when it is read.
The Westminster Confession is 'The principal subordinate standard of the Church of Scotland' (Articles Declaratory of the Constitution of the Church of Scotland II), but 'with due regard to liberty of opinion in points which do not enter into the substance of the Faith' (V). This formulation represents many years of struggle over the extent to which the confession reflects the Word of God and the struggle of conscience of those who came to believe it did not fully do so (e.g., William Robertson Smith). Some Presbyterian Churches, such as the Free Church of Scotland, have no such 'conscience clause'.
The Presbyterian Church USA has adopted the Book of Confessions, which reflects the inclusion of other Reformed confessions in addition to the Westminster documents. These other documents include ancient creedal statements (the Nicene Creed, the Apostles' Creed), 16th century Reformed confessions (the Scots Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, the Second Helvetic Confession, all of which were written before Calvinism had developed as a particular strand of Reformed doctrine), and 20th century documents (The Theological Declaration of Barmen and the Confession of 1967).
The Presbyterian Church in Canada developed the confessional document Living Faith [1984] and retains it as a subordinate standard of the denomination. It is confessional in format, yet like the Westminster Confession, draws attention back to original Bible text.
Presbyterians in Ireland who rejected Calvinism and the Westminster Confessions formed the Non-subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland.

Presbyterian Denominations who trace their heritage to the British Isles usually organise their church services inspired by the principles in the Directory of Public Worship, developed by the Westminster Assembly in the 1640s. This directory documented Reformed worship practices and theology adopted and developed over the preceding century by British Puritans, initially guided by John Calvin and John Knox. It was enacted as law by the Scottish Parliament, and became one of the foundational documents of Presbyterian church legislation elsewhere.
Historically, the driving principle in the development of the standards of Presbyterian worship is the Regulative principle of worship, which specifies that (in worship), what is not commanded is forbidden.[7]
Presbyterians traditionally have held the Worship position that there are only two sacraments:
Baptism, in which they hold to the paedo-baptist (i.e. infant baptism as well as baptising unbaptised adults) and the Aspersion (sprinkling) or Affusion (pouring) positions, rather than the Immersion position
The Lord's Supper (also known as Communion)
Over subsequent centuries, many Presbyterian churches modified these prescriptions by introducing non-biblical hymns, instrumental accompaniment and ceremonial vestments in worship. Still, there is not one fixed "Presbyterian" worship style. Although there are set services for the "Lord's Day", one can find a service to be evangelical and even revivalist in tone (especially in some conservative denominations), or strongly liturgical, approximating the practices of Lutheranism or Anglicanism (especially where Scottish tradition is esteemed)[clarification needed], or semi-formal, allowing for a balance of hymns, preaching, and congregational participation (favored by probably most American Presbyterians).
Among the Paleo-orthodoxy and emerging church movements in protestant and evangelical churches, which includes many Presbyterians, clergy are moving away from the traditional black Geneva gown and reclaiming not only the more ancient Eucharist vestments of alb and chasuble, but also cassock and surplice (typically a full length Old English style surplice which resembles the Celtic alb, an ungirdled liturgical tunic of the old Gallican Rite).
[edit]Architecture

Early Presbyterians were careful to distinguish between the "church" (a term which designated the members) and the "meeting-house" which was the building in which the church met.[8] Until the late 19th century, very few Presbyterians ever referred to their buildings as "churches." Presbyterians believed that meeting-houses (now called churches) are buildings to support the worship of God. The decor in some instances was austere so as not to detract from worship. Early Presbyterian meeting-houses were extremely plain. No stained glass, no elaborate furnishings, and no images were to be found in the meeting-house. The pulpit, often raised so as only to be accessible by a staircase, was the centerpiece of the building. In the late 19th century a gradual shift began to occur. Prosperous congregations built imposing churches, such as St Vincent Street Church, Glasgow, Fourth Presbyterian in Chicago, Fifth Avenue Presbyterian in New York City, Shadyside Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, First Presbyterian in Dallas, and many others. Usually a Presbyterian church will not have statues of saints, nor the ornate altar more typical of a Roman Catholic church. In a Presbyterian (Reformed Church) one will not usually find a Crucifix hanging behind the Chancel. However, one may find stained glass windows that depict the crucifixion, behind a chancel.

[edit]Scotland
John Knox (1505–1572), a Scot who had spent time studying under Calvin in Geneva, returned to Scotland and led the Parliament of Scotland to embrace the Reformation in 1560 (see Scottish Reformation Parliament). The Church of Scotland was eventually reformed along Presbyterian lines, to become the national Church of Scotland.
The Glorious Revolution of 1688 and the Acts of Union 1707 between Scotland and England guaranteed the Church of Scotland's form of government. However, legislation by the United Kingdom parliament allowing patronage led to splits in the Church, and finally the Disruption of 1843 led to the formation of the Free Church of Scotland. Further splits took place, especially over theological issues, but most Presbyterians in Scotland were reunited by 1929 union of the established Church of Scotland and the United Free Church of Scotland.
The Presbyterian denominations in Scotland today are the Church of Scotland, the Free Church of Scotland, the United Free Church of Scotland, the Free Church of Scotland (Continuing), the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland, the Associated Presbyterian Church (Associated Presbyterian Churches), and the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Scotland.
Within Scotland the term kirk is usually used to refer to a local Presbyterian church. Informally the term 'The Kirk' refers to the Church of Scotland.

Main article: English Presbyterianism
In England, Presbyterianism was established in secret in 1572. Thomas Cartwright is thought to be the first Presbyterian in England. Cartwright's controversial lectures at Cambridge University condemning the episcopal hierarchy of the Elizabethan Church led to his deprivation of his post by Archbishop John Whitgift and his emigration abroad. In 1647, by an act of the Long Parliament under the control of Puritans, the Church of England permitted Presbyterianism. The re-establishment of the monarchy in 1660 brought the return of Episcopal church government in England (and in Scotland for a short time); but the Presbyterian church in England continued in non-conformity, outside of the established church. In 1719 a major split, the Salter's Hall controversy, occurred; with the majority siding with nontrinitarian views. Thomas Bradbury published several sermons bearing on the controversy, and in 1719, "An answer to the reproaches cast on the dissenting ministers who subscribed their belief of the Eternal Trinity.". By the 18th century many English Presbyterian congregations had become Unitarian in doctrine.
A number of new Presbyterian Churches were founded by Scottish immigrants to England in the 19th century and later. Following the 'Disruption' in 1843 many of those linked to the Church of Scotland eventually joined what became the Presbyterian Church of England in 1876. Some, that is Crown Court (Covent Garden, London), St Andrew's (Stepney, London)) and Swallow Street (London), did not join the English denomination, which is why there are Church of Scotland congregations in England such as those at Crown Court, and St Columba's, Pont Street (Knightsbridge) in London.
In 1972, the Presbyterian Church of England (PCofE) united with the Congregational Church in England and Wales to form the United Reformed Church (URC). Among the congregations the PCofE brought to the URC were Tunley (Lancashire) , Aston Tirrold (Oxfordshire) and John Knox Presbyterian Church, Stepney, London (now part of Stepney Meeting House URC) - these are among the sole survivors today of the English Presbyterian churches of the 17th century. The URC also has a presence in Scotland, mostly of former Congregationalist Churches. Two former Presbyterian congregations, St Columba's, Cambridge (founded in 1879), and St Columba's, Oxford (founded as a chaplaincy by the PCofE and the Church of Scotland in 1908 and as a congregation of the PCofE in 1929), continue as congregations of the URC and university chaplaincies of the Church of Scotland.
In recent years a number of smaller denominations adopting Presbyterian forms of church government have organised in England, including the International Presbyterian Church planted by evangelical theologian Francis Schaeffer of L'Abri Fellowship in the 1970s, and the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in England and Wales founded in the North of England in the late 1980s.

In Wales Presbyterianism is represented by the Presbyterian Church of Wales, which was originally composed largely of Calvinistic Methodists who accepted Calvinist theology rather than the Armininianism of the Wesleyan Methodists. They broke off from the Church of England in 1811, ordaining their own ministers. They were originally known as the Calvinist Methodist connexion and in the 1920s it became alternatively known as the Presbyterian Church of Wales.
[edit]Ireland
Presbyterianism is the second largest Protestant denomination in the island of Ireland (after the Anglican Church of Ireland), and was brought by Scottish plantation settlers to Ulster who had been strongly encouraged to emigrate by James VI of Scotland, later James I of England. An estimated 100,000 Scottish Presbyterians moved to the northern counties of Ireland between 1607 and the Battle of the Boyne in 1690.[citation needed] The Presbytery of Ulster was formed in 1642 separately from the established Anglican Church. Presbyterians, along with Roman Catholics in Ulster and the rest of Ireland, suffered under the discriminatory Penal Laws until they were revoked in the early 19th century. Presbyterianism is represented in Ireland by the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster, the Non-subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland, the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Ireland and the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

In France, Presbyterianism is represented by the Eglise Reformée de France, and Presbyterianism is the largest Protestant denomination in France. There are also Lutherans and Evangelicals. In France, people usually say Protestant (which is a common term for all Reformed Christians). The word Calviniste may be used to differentiate from Lutherans, but the word Presbyterian is not used at all. The logo is a Huguenot Cross (Croix Huguenote) with the burning bush.
There is also an Church of Scotland (Presbyterian) in central Paris The Scots Kirk, Paris which is English-speaking, and is attended by many nationalities. It maintains close links with the Church of Scotland in Scotland itself, as well as with l'Eglise Reformée de France.

The origins of the Waldensian Evangelical Church lie in the medieval Waldensian movement for religious reform. The Waldensians adopted Calvinist theology during the Reformation and became the Italian branch of the Reformed churches. In 1975 the Waldensian Church joined with the Italian Methodist Church to form the Union of Waldensian and Methodist Churches, which is a member of the World Council of Churches, the World Alliance of Reformed Churches, and the World Methodist Council.

In the Karpathian Basin, formerly known Greater-Hungary there is a massive three-million Hungarian speaking crowd belonging to the Hungarian Reformed Church, which is a Calvinist strand, established in 1567, Debrecen, Hungary. Even before Presbyterianism spread with immigrants abroad from Scotland, there were divisions in the larger Presbyterian family. Some later rejoined only to separate again. In what some interpret as rueful self-reproach, some Presbyterians refer to the divided Presbyterian churches as the "Split P's".

In the United States, because of past or current doctrinal differences, Presbyterian churches often overlap, with congregations of many different Presbyterian groups in any one place. The largest Presbyterian denomination in the United States is the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) or PC(USA). Other Presbyterian bodies in the United States include the Presbyterian Church in America, the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, the Reformed Presbyterian Church, the Bible Presbyterian Church, the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church (ARP Synod), the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America, the Westminster Presbyterian Church in the United States (WPCUS), and the Reformed Presbyterian Church in the United States (RPCUS).
The territory within about a 50-mile (80 km) radius of Charlotte, North Carolina, is historically the greatest concentration of Presbyterianism in the Southern United States, while an almost identical geographic area around Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, contains probably the largest number of Presbyterians in the entire nation.
The PC (USA), beginning with its predecessor bodies, has, in common with other so-called "mainline" Protestant denominations, experienced a significant decline in members in recent years. Some estimates have placed that loss at nearly half in the last forty years.[9]
In August 2011, the American National Middle Eastern Presbyterian Caucus (NMEPC) endorsed the boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel.[10]

In Canada, the largest Presbyterian denomination – and indeed the largest Protestant denomination – was the Presbyterian Church in Canada, formed in 1875 with the merger of four regional groups. In 1925, the United Church of Canada was formed with the Methodist Church, Canada, and the Congregational Union of Canada. A sizable minority of Canadian Presbyterians, primarily in southern Ontario but also throughout the entire nation, withdrew, and reconstituted themselves as a non-concurring continuing Presbyterian body. They regained use of the original name in 1939.

Presbyterianism arrived in Latin America in the 19th century. The biggest Presbyterian church is the National Presbyterian Church of Mexico ("Iglesia Nacional Presbyteriana de México"), which has around 2,500,000 members and associates, but there are other small denominations. In Brazil, the Presbyterian Church of Brazil (Igreja Presbiteriana do Brasil) totals approximately 788.553 members; other presbyterian churches (Independents, United, Conservatives, Renovated - Charismatic, Free, Fundamentalist, Evangelical) in this nation have around 350,000 members. There are probably more than four million members of Presbyterian churches in all of Latin America. Presbyterian churches are also present in Peru, Bolivia, Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Colombia, Chile, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Argentina and others, but with few members. Some Latin Americans in North America are active in the Presbyterian Cursillo Movement.

Presbyterianism arrived in Africa in the 19th century through the work of Scottish missionaries and founded churches such as St Michael and All Angels Church, Blantyre, Malawi. The church has grown extensively and now has a presence in at least 23 countries in the region.[11] The Presbyterian Church of East Africa, based in Kenya, is particularly strong, with 500 clergy and 4 million members.[12] African presbyterian churches often incorporate diaconal ministries, including social services, emergency relief, and the operation of mission hospitals. A number of partnerships exist between presbyteries in Africa and the PC(USA), including specific connections with Lesotho, Malawi, South Africa, and Ghana. For example, the Lackawanna Presbytery, located in Northeastern Pennsylvania, has a partnership with a presbytery in Ghana. Also, Southminster Presbyterian Church, located near Pittsburgh, has partnerships with churches in Malawi and Kenya. In addition also there are a number of Presbyterian Churches in north Africa, the most known is the Nile Synod in Egypt and a recently founded synod for Sudan.

[edit]South Korea
Presbyterian Churches are the biggest and by far the most influential Protestant denominations in South Korea, with close to 20,000 churches affiliated with the two largest Presbyterian denominations in the country.[13]
All Korean Presbyterian denominations share the same name in Korean, 대한예수교장로회, tracing its roots to the United Presbyterian Assembly before its long history of disputes and schisms. All major seminaries associated with each denomination claim heritage from the Pyung Yang Theological Seminary, therefore, both Jangsin University and Chongsin University both celebrated the 100th class in 2007, 100 years from the first graduates of Pyung Yang Theological Seminary.[14]
Korean Presbyterian denominations are active in evangelism and many of its missionaries are being sent overseas, being the second biggest missionary sender in the world after the United States. GSM, the missionary body of the "Hapdong" General Assembly of Presbyterian Churches of Korea, is the single largest Presbyterian missionary organization in the Korea.[15]
In Oryu-dong, Pyungkang Cheil is one of the largest Christian churches in South Korea. Another congregation in Seoul, Myungsung Presbyterian Church, claims to be the largest Presbyterian Church in the world. In addition there are many Korean-American Presbyterians in the United States, either with their own church sites or sharing space in pre-existing churches as is the case in Australia, New Zealand and even Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia with Korean immigration.

In Taiwan, the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan has been an important supporter of the use of Taiwanese languages in services as a consequence of its advocacy of vernacular scriptures and worship services. (Mandarin Chinese has become dominant since the Nationalists fled to the island in 1949.)[16]

In the mainly Christian Indian state of Mizoram, the Presbyterian denomination is the largest denomination; it was brought to the region with missionaries from Wales in 1894. Prior to Mizoram, the Welsh Presbyterians (missionaries) started venturing into the north-east of India through the Khasi Hills (presently located within the state of Meghalaya in India) and established Presbyterian churches all over the Khasi Hills from 1840s onwards. Hence there is a strong presence of Presbyterians in Shillong (the present capital of Meghalaya) and the areas adjoining it. The Welsh missionaries built their first church in Cherrapunji (aka Sohra) in 1846. Presbyterians participated in the mergers that resulted in the Church of North India and the Church of South India.

In New Zealand, Presbyterian is the dominant denomination in Otago and Southland due largely to the rich Scottish and to a lesser extent Ulster-Scots heritage in the region. The area around Christchurch, Canterbury, is dominated philosophically by the Anglican (Episcopalian) denomination.
Originally there were two branches of Presbyterianism in New Zealand, the northern Presbyterian church which existed in the North Island and the parts of the South Island north of the Waitaki River, and the Synod of Otago and Southland, founded by Free Church settlers in southern South Island. The two churches merged in 1901, forming what is now the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand.

In Australia, Presbyterianism is the fourth largest denomination of Christianity, with nearly 600,000 Australians claiming to be Presbyterian in the 2006 Commonwealth Census. Presbyterian churches were founded in each colony, some with links to the Church of Scotland and others to the Free Church, including a number founded by John Dunmore Lang. Some of these bodies merged in the 1860s. In 1901 the churches linked to the Church of Scotland in each state joined together forming the Presbyterian Church of Australia but retaining their state assemblies.
In 1977, two thirds of the Presbyterian Church of Australia, along with the Congregational Union of Australia and the Methodist Church of Australasia, combined to form the Uniting Church in Australia. The majority of the other third did not join due to disagreement with the Uniting Church's liberal views, though a portion remained due to cultural attachment. For example, although the Presbyterian Church of Australia reinstated the ban on the ordination of women to the ministry in 1991, one of the two women ordained prior to that date has kept her position in the denomination and is currently the Senior Minister of St Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Canberra.

The Presbyterian Church of Vanuatu is the largest denomination in the country, with approximately one-third of the population of Vanuatu members of the church. The PCV was taken to Vanuatu by missionaries from Scotland. The PCV (Presbyterian Church of Vanuatu) is headed by a moderator with offices in Port Vila. The PCV is particularly strong in the provinces of Tafea, Shefa, and Malampa. The Province of Sanma is mainly Presbyterian with a strong Roman Catholic minority in the Francophone areas of the province. There are some Presbyterian people, but no organised Presbyterian churches in Penama and Torba, both of which are traditionally Anglican. Vanuatu is the only country in the South Pacific with a significant Presbyterian heritage and membership. The PCV is a founding member of the Vanuatu Christian Council (VCC). The PCV runs many primary schools and Onesua secondary school. Although the church has lost members to American fundamentalists, the church is still strong, especially in the rural villages.

The German Nibelungen and the corresponding Old Norse form Niflung (Niflungr) is the name in Germanic and Norse mythology of the royal family or lineage of the Burgundians who settled at Worms.

I was in the local Kingdom Hall. Jehova´s witnesses house of worship. It did not look exactly as it does but I recignized some of the local Jehova´s witnesses. There were also some non baptized people. Two woman of those was in the front of the room and they had some questions. I got the feeling that these two woman were non believers as well. They asked the presenter about the book called "Hebrews" but they said "Heb" probably because they only read the shortened word "Heb" and did not know that this means "Hebrews". A baptized woman said the word "Heb" and laughed a little because of this and I got a bit angry within myself. After this a man came in from the emergency exit with a beast he has provoked up to a great rage. The beast charged against me over and over and it was really scary with terrible teeth. After a while I defended myself with a metal rod that had a round metal candle holder at the end. I struck the metal rod on his chest and now the beast looked almost entirely as a man but scary still. After this a married couple baptized in Jehova´s witnesse´s organization came and calmed me and took me to the rear of the room sort of saying the beast is not that nasty and scary. Well maybe not now I thought.

The Talmud

The Mishna resulted in the creation of the Talmud, which is a commentary on the Mishna. The Tanakh (Hebrew: תַּנַ"ךְ‎, pronounced [taˈnaχ] or [təˈnax]; also Tenakh, Tenak, Tanach) is a name used in Judaism for the canon of the Hebrew Bible. The Tanakh is also known as the Masoretic Text or the Miqra. The Hebrew text was originally an abjad: consonants written with some applied vowel letters ("matres lectionis"). Dabrowski is known for her trademark in which the guests jump at the end of each program. The jump is frozen in mid-air and shown with the end credits after each interview. What I held eternal just crumbled away. Behind the rubble just lifted away. Though my face is a silhouette.

Dream: Blue skinned man behind the house in long stream (where I used to live) close to where the outside water tap is. A bit wild and very muscular. His hair was curly and rough. He had no clothes on his upper body. Maybe he had a primitive weapon.

After this extraterrestials landed. Some different ones. Some landed with lights on a platform forming a square pyramid. There where different kinds of landing on different kinds of platforms. Then there was a competition for very muscular men (some of them extraterrestials i think but they looked like earth men but with slightly pale/bluish skin) and maybe muscular women as well. I thought that I was untrained for the moment. Not as strong as I used to be. The men competed in eating large spoonfulls of strawberry (earth berrie-) jam. They also competed in eating some kind of root vegetable (root fruits). I was helping by cutting the root fruits in slices for a man. There also where i slice of carrot. I did not know if that should be blended with the other root fruit so I put it to the side a little. I liked how the root fruit tasted. Sweet and good.

It seemed as if I was to take over after him. When it comes to the zodiac sign I am a Virgo but with the zodiac sign Snake bearer I am a Leo (Lion). It also seemed as if the absinth (wormwood) was better than vodka. The vodka came with Eve. The wormwood came before the time of Eve and the bottles were only halv full. We walked? to a cattle egret that had cows in it. An older woman died and her soul went into a cow. From somewhere a paper came to me. On the paper was the results of her body status at the time of death. Words and numbers. Why she died physically. After this I held an empty paper the same as the one I already got but without the numbers. I put it away from me because I already got the results on the first paper.

Dream 4: I had a relationship with a greek man. Not so much taller than I am. Maybe 1.75 m. Beautiful with ashy hair colour. We were engaged? and was to marry each other. An older relative to the man, a woman, prepared a dress for me in black and red. The collar at the front went up over half my face over the mouth and the nose as well I think. I had differculty breathing I remember. Just for a minute. The dress did not go all the way down to the floor. This was not all good I thouhgt in the dream. I thought that a dress going all the way down to the floor would suit me better. The dress had spanish style I thought. I also thought that I had met the man during tghe same time I went to high school. I did got to know a few greek men back then but not a man with this appearance. They all had black or brown hair as I remember it.

The first verse contains the images of treading out a winepress and a "terrible swift sword." These two images appear in both the Book of Isaiah and the Book of Revelation. Two dreams:

Thomas (Bone?). A croatian male scientist, a male pilot whith heart disease (died from it overseas) and a female attendant (EF?) without education for taking blood sample who had worked one summer at a home for mentally retarded. The attendant she had studied Natural Sciences for three years before that summer. The croatian had some 15-20 years earlier invited me and the pilot for eating shark steak at his home. Maybe some other man as well. My father had said several times that he would never eat shark meat both before and after that occasion. Because the shark is a predator. So is the pike according to his opinion.

These three was in a Kingdom Hall taking blood samples from Jehova´s witnesses. They started with me even though Iam not baptized within their organization. The young woman EF took my blood sample out of my arm vein. The croatian scientist said that they would know later according to the blood sample why my heels hurt at night. And something else as well that I do not remember. A woman baptized within Jehova´s witnesses and she also is an elder brother´s wife who studies the Bible with me. She seemed to want herself and others (Jehova´s witnesses) to give blood samples. I was supposed to pick them up on my way to The Kingdom hall. They lived in a community of the name heather village with an ending in the name I did not hear I think.

The other dream: A kind of mosquito smaller than an ordinary mosquito produced some kind of gel. I think inside a plant. The gel was put to cover small bumps (big compared to the smaller than mosquito though). After that the smaller than a mosquito was loading the gel with energi or electricity by injection from itself somehow. This resulted in a mountainside covered with a green bush- or tree like plant with red berries. Mangrove. Smaller than a mosquito hade some kind of system while returning to the electrified gels to electrify again. Maybe going forward two and going back three? Maybe half back of going forward? Continuous system all along. The energy/electricity was moving slowly in the gel and I am not sure that the energy was speading through all of the gel masses. The gel masses was covering small roundish items inside a plant.

The croatian scientist: Is PhD in industrial production and lecturer in industrial engineering at University West. He is also associate professor of industrial production at the Royal Institute of Technology. His specialty is how heat is transported and transmitted in various machining processes. He leads a group conducting research in cutting the Production Technology Centre at University West. In the manufacturing industry used machining processes milling and turning to remove material from a starting material until it reaches the desired shape and surface texture.

They gathered the bodies and pressed them into some kind of packets in some fruit nets that might have been green. The fruit nets might have been green. Inside the nets there was also oranges. The oranges was in the compressed packets but still round. As they usually looks like. They sold the packets as commodity. The bodies dried and pressed. I felt great disgust for the ded bodies. Dream: A man said he is tall. 1. 64 tall. He also had a cigarett packet which was black and looked like Commerce. Brika = Tunisian Brik Dannouni - Stuffed Lamb Turnovers?

Recipe
Brik, which is always made with egg, has many variations. This delicious brik is stuffed with lamb and cheese.

Tools You Will Need:
food processor
heavy skillet
tsp measure
baking sheet
large bowl
wax paper
plastic wrap
Ingredients:
24 phyllo dough sheets
3 oz. Gruyere or Swiss cheese
10 oz. lamb, trimmed
1/2 tsp. paprika
1-1/2 tbsp. olive oil
1 large egg or 2 egg whites, lightly beaten
2-3 C olive oil for frying
salt and pepper to taste

Directions: 1. Cut lamb into 1" pieces.

2. Shred cheese in food processor and set aside.

3. Chop lamp pieces in food processor by pulsing about 10 times. Set aside.

4. Heat olive oil in skillet.

5. Cook lamb over medium-high heat until no longer pink inside and season with paprika, salt and pepper.

6. Remove lamb and place in a bowl to cool.

7. When lamb is at room temperature, mix in eggs and cheese.

8. Unwrap one piece of phyllo dough.

9. Place 1 tbsp. of lamb mixture in the center.

10. Take one edge of the phyllo sheet and fold it over to the opposite side, forming a triangle.

11. Use water or egg white to seal edges.

12. Place on baking sheet lined with wax paper and cover with plastic wrap.

13. Repeat until all 24 phyllo sheets are filled.

14. Heat olive oil in skillet.

15. On a low heat, fry several pieces of brik at a time, cooking until golden brown (approximately 2 minutes on each side).

16. Place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

MMXI = "2011" as a Roman numeral
The numeral system of ancient Rome, or Roman numerals, uses combinations of letters from the Latin alphabet to signify values. The numbers 1 to 10 can be expressed in Roman numerals as:
I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, and X.
The Roman numeral system is decimal[1] but not directly positional and does not include a zero. It is a cousin of the Etruscan numerals. Bamboleo is a parlour game for two up to seven persons and it takes motor skill. The game contains a large circular disc that is balancing on a cork on a high and thin conical foot. On the disc is from the start 32 different shaped and in different weight woodblocks placed and it is the players task to remove these one by one. If one
makes the disc to come out of balance one get no points at all and the game is over. The one removing most woodblocks has won. (This makes me remember a vision about Trivial persuit; Trivial Pursuit, the Genus edition, these are Geography (blue), Entertainment (pink), History (yellow), Arts & Literature (brown), Science & Nature (green), and Sports & Leisure (orange).

The Secure Hash Algorithm is one of a number of cryptographic hash functions published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology as a U.S. Federal Information Processing Standard:
SHA-0
A retronym applied to the original version of the 160-bit hash function published in 1993 under the name "SHA". It was withdrawn shortly after publication due to an undisclosed "significant flaw" and replaced by the slightly revised version SHA-1.
SHA-1
A 160-bit hash function which resembles the earlier MD5 algorithm. This was designed by the National Security Agency (NSA) to be part of the Digital Signature Algorithm.
SHA-2
A family of two similar hash functions, with different block sizes, known as SHA-256 and SHA-512. They differ in the word size; SHA-256 uses 32-byte (256 bits) words where SHA-512 uses 64-byte (512 bits) words. There are also truncated versions of each standardized, known as SHA-224 and SHA-384. These were also designed by the NSA.
SHA-3
A proposed hash function standard still in development. This is being chosen in a public review process from non-government designers. An ongoing NIST hash function competition is scheduled to end with the selection of a winning function, which will be given the name SHA-3 in 2012.

I also dreamed that I had bees on my left hand mostly. Someone told me to eat the bees and I thought no one can not eat bees but the bees turned into small honey marbles (small balls) and tasted sweet as honey so I ate them though I was scared to do so because I still thought they were bees in some way. Recorded as Lear, Leyre, Leare, and Leere and others, this is an early English surname. It is locational from a place in the county of Leicestershire called Leire. Recorded in the famous Domesday Book of 1086, and in the Episcopal Registers of that county in 1227, it derives from the word 'legra', an Olde British river name whose meaning is obscure. The surname is medieval and amongst the earliest recorded in the latter half of the13th century (see below). These early recordings include examples such as William de Leyre in the registers of the city of London in 1292. Lars "Lasse" Nils Berghagen (born 13 May 1945 in Enskede) is a Swedish singer, songwriter, composer and actor.
Berghagen is a well known singer-songwriter in Sweden. He released his first record in 1965, aged just 19. Four years later, in 1969, he released the single Teddybjörnen Fredriksson ("The Teddybear Fredriksson"), which has become a classic. Other hits include Sträck ut din hand, En kväll i juni and Stockholm i mitt hjärta.
Berghagen won the Swedish 1975 Melodifestivalen with the song Jennie, Jennie. He also participated in the 1974 Melodifestivalen with the song Min kärlekssång till dig ("My Lovesong For You"), taking second place (after ABBA).
He hosted the popular summer TV show Allsång på Skansen (Singalong at Skansen) from 1994 to 2003. During his time as host the show increased its ratings from 600,000 to 2,000,000 viewers, which by Swedish standards is considered an impressive rating (Sweden has approximately 9,000,000 inhabitants).

Fictional character biography

Magneta sent a note to J2 and Wolverine, saying that she had Wolverine's daughter Wild Thing in the island nation of Madripoor. After much searching, the two heroes went to a hotel, where they were greeted by a very friendly African-American teenager named Daze, who offered them directions to a house where Wild Thing had been spotted. When Wolverine and J2 arrived at the house, they were attacked by robot guards, and the ensuing battle was in danger of damaging the house (which belonged to Daze). Daze tried to intervene to save her home, and revealed that she had a mutant ability to turn into living vapor. She used her ability on J2 to surround him with a cloud of noxious gas, which blinded him, and sent him crashing into a spa where Wild Thing and Magneta were showering. Magneta informed J2 and Wolverine that the whole thing was a test to see how Daze's powers would fare in powered combat. Daze was apparently up for membership in Magneta's new superteam, and Wild Thing had just joined (much to Wolverine's chagrin). Daze revealed that she was a huge fan of J2, and hated having to fight him. Now that Magneta has joined a team of villains, it is doubtful that the kind, heroic Daze is still working with Magneta.

A man and a woman riding on a big dog. The dog looked like a big! wolfhound. After a moment only one of them kept riding on the dog. I do not remember who but I think the woman continued riding on the dog and the man mounted off. The dog was so muscular that it could carry two persons without differculty. A beautiful specimen. The man and the woman was dressed in old fashioned clothes. The woman in a dress in fine material.

I also believe that the prophecy about these kings are to begin now. In the last days.

Not so long ago. Maybe almost a year ago there were two kings. One female and one male king with a younger sister coming later who were adopted. The mother´s sister´s youngest daughter.

Then there were three kings. One female and two male kings with one of the kings as the father of the two other kings. And a sister of the son and daughter were to be born after as before that.

After that they were two. One male and one female king. With a younger sister to be born after. Another pregnancy.

A short while ago there were three again during the same pregnancy. One male and two female at the same time. The identical twins (a male and a female king) born with caesarean and the single baby just before them born in a vaginal way.

Now I saw another woman I know by the name Mariam with 5 already born sons. The Father as a childhood friend of mine. Two of the sons is fraternal twins. Second youngest with only one brother younger than they are.

About at this time I got this information:

= 7

(in about 6 years?)

I have also got this information before the seven kings (above): 2 1 0 0. Children? (two one zero zero). Zero is a fertilized egg inside a woman´s uterus?

Now in present time it might be four Kings. Two female kings and one male. The fourth I do not know yet.

It seems like the fall of all of the five kings has not yet occurred.

Revelation 17:10, "And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space."

Revelation 17:11, "And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition."

Before trying to figure out WHO the 8th king is, we must find out WHEN this prophecy is to occur. Some believe the five kings that are fallen are the nations that fell before John received the Revelation from Christ on the Isle of Patmos. Problem with that theory is the "time frame" that was being set in the vision itself. In Revelation 21:9,10 we see the angel showing John a scene where the city of Heaven is descending from above. This truly has John thinking of the END of time does it not. Just as it did in Revelation 17 at the beginning when the angel invited John to "...Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:"-Revelation 17:1

The judgment is NOT "before" John's day. This vision is definitely depicting a time in the future. Revelation 17 must be understood as beginning in the "time of the judgment" which in fact began at the end of Daniel's 2300 year prophecy in 1844ad.

By the way, this is also the same time frame of Daniel chapter 7 judgment scene...

Daniel 7:10, "... the judgment was set, and the books were opened."
...Revelation 10 and the little book...

Revelation 10:10, "And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter."
...the preaching of the first angels message...

Revelation 14:6-7, "...for the hour of his judgment is come:..."

When the children of God were trying to decipher the prophecies, they saw a wonderful event soon to occur (sweet as honey) but later realized they were in error (belly was bitter) They thought the 2300 year prophecy of Daniel was to end on October 22, 1844 with the second coming of Christ. They got the date correct for the ending of the 2300 year prophecy, but the event at the end of that prophecy they simply got wrong. He was NOT returning to earth that day, He was actually stepping out of the Sanctuary to begin the work of the investigative judgment. (Which by the way is happening NOW!)

Isn't that awesome that the prophecy even PREDICTS the true Remnant of God making a mistake in prophetic understanding as well as proclamation? ALL of them believed Christ was coming back October 22, 1844 (sweet as honey) but when October 23 arrived it was indeed bitter in their belly!

Plus, there are other aspects of the prophecy in Revelation that solidifies the timetable for this prophecy. Verse 11 of Revelation 17 speaks of the beast that "was and is not" as an "eighth" king that is "of the seven" and will be seen as one that "goeth into perdition." Realizing that the remainder of the statement made in Revelation 17:8 where it identifies the beast as "The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition:..." It is obvious that it is speaking of the same beast of the end times, because later in the exact same verse it declares that this is also the same beast, "...that was, and is not, and yet is."

So the beast in verse 17 that is described as "the one that was, and is not... and will goeth into perdition" is the very same beast of verse 8, where it speaks of it as both the beast that "was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition" as well as "the beast that was, and is not, and yet is." Same beast, just two different descriptions of it's true characteristics.

After reading the facts, you will no doubt come to the understanding that BOTH history and prophecy prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Roman Catholic church is in fact the beast that "was... is not... yet is." The Beast that was: Is the Roman church that began in 538ad and continued until Napoleon sent in General Berthier in 1798ad
...and is not: From 1798ad until the signing of the Lateran treaty in 1929 the Roman Church/state was non-existent. Therefore the Roman church "is not" in power now.
...yet is: From 1929 to present the Roman Church has been a church & state. The "yet is" aspect of the prophecy states that though this beats was mortally wounded, it WILL return.
So, who are these five kings that are fallen as well as who is the one that is... and one that is not yet come, of Revelation 17:10 that leads us to discover the EIGHTH KING?

Revelation 17:10, "And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space."
ALL five of the "kings" in the above table have already fallen at this point in the prophetic statement of Revelation 17:10. The king that "is" is in fact the Roman Catholic church WITH the wound. Judging by the chronological order of events listed in the prophecy, we see that the time of this vision is for the "hour of judgment", or the "end times", beginning in the 6th king's wounded period of time of 1798 through 1844.

1844 is a very important time to understand here. It is when the investigative judgment began. The reason I say this is important, is because the angel is telling John in the vision that he is about to see the "judgment" of the great whore in verse one of Revelation 17, which by the way is the chapter we are now digging into. This in fact is in tune with Daniel 7 as well as Revelation 10.

The king that "is not yet come" will eventually be the Roman Catholic church with the wound completely healed. If you watch the movements of the Vatican in today's world, one will see just how accurate this prophecy is. All the pieces are quickly being put in place so as to assure the Vatican desire of a one world government come to be. Soon this eight king will have its complete persecuting powers return unto it. Many true Christians will once again find themselves being killed for their faith in Christ that not only opposes the Catholic faith, it exposes it with child like ease as being evil. Which in turn angers the dragon as Revelation 12:17 declares is unavoidable.

This identifies ALL seven kings. But what of the eighth? The prophecy gives us graphic clues to this that are extremely obvious. It plainly says, "...the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven" This beast that "was, is not and yet is," IS THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH is it not? And the Roman Catholic church is also "of the seven" as history has already proven. It was of the original five in it's infancy when it killed the Christians for 1260 years, and it is also "of the seven" when it "is not" killing Christians thanks to Napoleon sending in General Berthier to remove the Pope from power.

If you notice, the beast ISN'T an eighth "head" is it? The prophecy just states plainly that the beast that "was, is not, and yet is" is the eighth king. Still, an "eighth" king does in fact suggest a "different" or "new" king right? Yes it does! And after you see the Roman Catholic church standing up with all heads in play, the ENTIRE BEAST will be seen. The eighth beast is actually the ENTIRE BEAST standing there with the seven heads. Each head is a "kingdom" unto itself, yes, but the eighth beast is ALL seven kingdoms working together ON ONE BEAST! That conglomerate actually makes him KING #8.

Some have gone so far as to publish works that claim all those that preach this Truth are mistaken in calculating the heads of Revelation 17. In fact I just received an email stating that today.

Seventh-day Adventist make a grave mistake in counting the horns, heads, etc from Daniel. He was prophesying for the king of Babylon concerning his kingdom and those that would follow. But we forget that he lived about 536 b.c. & there were approximately 3400 years previous, not taken into consideration.

Great Controversy points out that the worst two kings against God and His people, were the Pharaoh of Egypt and the king of the Assyrians. Revelation takes those two into consideration with the 7 kings portrayed. Verse 10 "And there are seven kings: five are fallen , and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space...." I will list the five that are fallen and the rest after a spacing:-

What are the “beast,” the “harlot,” the “seven heads,” and the “ten horns?" We observed on page 458 that Revelation 17 contains a perplexing puzzle. It talks about the “beast” that “was, and is not, and is to ascend from the bottomless pit and go to perdition”; “it is eighth but it belongs to the seven.” “The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated.” They are also “seven kings, five of whom have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come.” Verses 8, 11, 9, 10.

As for the “ten horns,” they are “ten kings who have not yet received royal power, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast. These are of one mind and give over their power and authority to the beast; they will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them.” “And the ten horns.., and the beast will hate the harlot; they will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire.” Verses 12-14, 16.

A person is tempted to sigh, “Impossible!” Yet chapter 17 is as much a part of “the revelation of Jesus Christ” (Revelation 1:1) as is any other chapter in the book. There’s a blessing to all who read it (Revelation 1:3). We should make an effort to understand.

Indeed we may find that the solution is simpler than we supposed.

A survey of interpretations. Many interpretations of this puzzle have been offered over the years. One interpretation of the “seven heads” starts with a list of seven Roman emperors as “heads” of the Roman state: Augustus, Tiberius, Claudius, Caligula, Nero, and so on. Another cites a string of successive Roman administrative styles: republic, consular, triumvir, decemvir, and more. Still another interpretation offers a succession of seven end-time popes, as heads of the Roman Church.

Now, in Jeremiah 51:24, 25 and Daniel 2:35, 44, 45, a “mountain” is a symbol of a kingdom or nation. See page 238. With this in mind, one of the simplest of the many interpretations of our puzzle looks at the seven heads as seven persecuting powers viewed from the time when John was writing Revelation.

In this scheme the five “heads” (or “mountains” or “kings”) which had “fallen” (before John’s day) are listed as Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, and Greece. The head that “is” is seen as the Roman Empire, which was ruling in John’s day. The head that "has not yet come” is taken to be the Roman Church, which in many ways resembles a nation and which in John’s day had not yet risen to power. Egypt and especially Assyria were enemies of God’s people in Old Testament times. We are familiar with the other governments.

As for the “ten horns” which are “ten kings,” they are perceived in this interpretation to be the nations of Europe, which in John’s day were not yet in place. The “hour” they were to reign is the 1260 days. This interpretation has much to commend it.

There is another fairly simple interpretation, one which, however, views the puzzle from the end time rather than from John’s day. It sees the five “fallen” heads as Babylon, Persia, Greece, Roman Empire, and Christian Rome. The sixth head (in the end time) “is” Christian Rome in its wounded state, to be followed soon by the seventh head that “has not yet come,” Christian Rome in its revived condition. The “hour” when the ten kings reign with the beast is a brief period at the very end of time when with dictatorial intensity they aid the beast in reviving harsh persecution. Three basic questions. There are three basic questions that we ought to ask when trying to understand our puzzle: (1) From what time frame are we to look at it? (2) Are we to use any persecuting powers that we haven’t already met in our study of Daniel and Revelation? and (3) Is the language to be taken as it stands or in an accommodated sense? Let’s look at the questions one at a time.

1. The time frame. In Revelation 21:9, an angel invited John to watch the holy city come down from heaven. This invitation certainly carried John’s mind forward to the end of the millennium. Similarly, at the beginning of Revelation 17 (the chapter we’re now studying) an angel gave John an invitation to come and see the “judgment” of the great harlot. This invitation drew his mind forward to the beginning of the end time. See pages 422-425.

So shouldn’t Revelation 17 be interpreted from the viewpoint of 1798/1844 and later, the era of the judgment and the end time? This is the time frame for the judgment scene in Daniel 7, the opening of the little scroll in Revelation 10, and the preaching of the first angel’s message of Revelation 14:6, 7, “The hour of his judgment has come.” We have often reminded ourselves that the second half of Revelation, in which our puzzle is located, is concerned almost exclusively with the end time.

2. The empires. It seems, too, that we should be reluctant to add empires (such as Egypt and Assyria) to the ones that are so prominent in Daniel and in the rest of Revelation. The prophecies of Daniel are our key to the interpretation of Revelation. Daniel gives us Babylon, Persia, Greece, Roman Empire, and the Roman Church, but says nothing about Egypt and Assyria.

The beast of Revelation 17 is the same as the leopard-bodied beast of chapter 13, both of which stand in water and have seven heads and ten horns. There seem to be four animal symbols in chapters 12, 13, and 17—the dragon, the Iamb-horned beast, the leopard-bodied sea beast, and the scarlet-colored sea beast. However, Revelation 16:13 and 20:10 speak of them as only three, the “dragon” (or “devil”), the “false prophet” (which is the lamb-horned animal), and the “beast” (not the “beasts”).

The dragon and the beast, both having seven heads and ten horns, represent one and the same spirit of church-state persecution. (Church-state persecution is a primary concern of Revelation.) Their seven heads call attention to the same sevenfold sequence of persecuting government. But whereas (a) the dragon calls special attention to non-Christian persecution, and (b) the beast calls attention to the old-fashioned Catholic-style persecution, (c) the lamb horned beast calls attention to end-time Protestantism as it finally lapses into a dragonlike, beastlike spirit of persecution.

As for the two stages of the “beast” itself, its leopard-bodied stage (chapter 13) calls attention to persecution during the Middle Ages, and its scarlet-colored stage (chapter 17) calls attention first to its weakness at the beginning of the judgment hour and second to its dramatic but brief resurgence as an old-fashioned Catholic-style persecuting power immediately prior to the second coming.

3. The language. A third guideline for interpreting the heads and horns, the harlot, and the beast is that some of the language in chapter 17 is used in an accommodated sense. We read in verse 8 that the beast “is not”; yet even while we’re listening to the angel tell us this, we’re looking at the beast through John’s eyes. We can see it standing in the water with the great harlot riding on its back!

In a similar way, the ten kings are said in verse 12 to have “not yet received royal power.” But in verses 1 and 2 they have already as kings gone to bed with the harlot. “I will show you ... the great harlot,” says the angel, “with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication.” So they once did have royal power. In chapter 13 we saw them wearing their crowns during the 1260 years. In a little while from now they’re going to get “authority as kings” again (no doubt as totalitarian states) and rule with the beast for an “hour” (verse 12), during which they will “make war on the Lamb” (verse 14) and turn against the harlot (verse 16). See pages 441, 442.

So the beast “is not” in comparison with what it used to be and in comparison with what it will be; and the same is true for the kings. After a manner of speaking, in a certain sense, in comparison with their tremendous though temporary future reign as oppressive totalitarian states, the kings haven’t yet begun to reign. They’re something like John Paul Jones, skipper of the Bonhomme Richard. As every American schoolchild knows, when John Paul Jones was already well embroiled with the British frigate Serapis he shouted out, “I have not yet begun to fight.” He had indeed begun to fight, but he said he hadn’t, in view of the punches he still intended to land.

The beast an eighth but of we seven. What about the beast that is “an eighth” while it also “belongs to the seven”? Verse 11

Let's not make the problem too hard. The beast isn't an eighth head! It’s a beast, and the seven heads all belong to it!

When we add up seven numbers we get a total, which is an eighth number. But this eighth number belongs to the seven; it is sum and substance of the others. When the beast’s head received a “mortal wound,” the beast as a whole was critically injured. And when the wound is healed, the beast as a whole is healed. Of course! See Revelation 13:3, 12, 14.

During the beasts serious illness its lamb-horned rival occupies front center. The beast appears to have been upstaged permanently; but it hasn't been. In fact, the lamb-horned animal soon offers the beast its services in order to help it stage its comeback. The beast recovers and rises to its greatest power yet, as symbolized by its seventh head. See pages 340-349.

Applying our three rules now, we see that of the “seven heads” the “five” that are “fallen” are entities familiar to us: (1) Babylon, (2) Persia, (3) Greece, (4) Roman Empire, and (5) Christian Rome. By the time of the vision (in the1798/1844 “judgment” era), Christian Rome "is" enduring a critical illness resulting from a “mortal wound.” So we are now living in the time of the sixth head—(6) Wounded Christian Rome—an unprecedented era of separation of church and state. The final head will be (7) Christian Rome Revived—and as it revives, the entire beast (“an eighth”) will realize its climactic self-actualization. The “ten horns,” which once represented the intolerant kingdoms of Europe and which are now more-or-less tolerant democracies, will momentarily become harshly intolerant totalitarian entities.

Vision Yesterday? I saw long thin fingers (hands with five fingers each as ours) holding a ring kind of a wedding ring belonging to an earth woman married to a Heavenly man symbolizing both the marriage and the woman and the earth. I heard: The ruler ring ("Härskarringen" in swedish), My precious (in english). It was a male that held the ring and he might have been Smeagol (Gollum = Golem, se below) or an Extraterrestial being. I do not know. I just saw the hands. The ring was thrown into a glass bowl containing water a bit nonchalant and picked up again. Later the ring was put in the same glass bowl still containing water in a more gentle way sliding along the side down. (Made me think of in the movie when the ring was falling away from Smeagol as he lost it.) Before or after this the male who held the ring was wondering and trying to figure out which finger, or hand, to put the ring on and decides at last to put it on the left hands ring finger. (Made me think of two kinds of babtism. The woman with the wedding ring is Iesous Bride I believe. Iesous Bride is the church. Including the 144 000 mentioned in the Bible. The 144 000 Holy ones. Jerusalem above. Righteous men and woman who are Iesous disciples. Who tries to live as Iesous.There also is a book written by Laurence Gardner "Genesis of the grail kings".

In this sentence "it" refers to the banners of Gil-Galad's and Elendil's armies, and comparing them to the armies he had seen in the War of Wrath;

2) So many great princes and captains were assembled

Still talking about the Last Alliance;

3) And yet not so many, not so fair, as when Thangorodrim was broken...

i.e., The Last Alliance was smaller than the War of Wrath -- which he HAD witnessed.

Elrond could have used a clearer way to say the same thing:

"So many great princes and captains were assembled, it recalled to me the glory of the Elder Days and the hosts of Beleriand. And yet not so many, nor so fair, as when Thangorodrim was broken, and the Elves deemed that evil was ended for ever, and it was not so."

So no, he was not bragging -- he was just being oblique, as a good Loremaster ought to be .

As an aside: I would have thought that the Last Alliance was certainly larger than the remnants of the Noldor and Sindar and Men in Sirion, just before the War of Wrath. Certainly "the glory of the Elder Days and the hosts of Beleriand" refers to Valinor's armies marching against Mordor, and to no other battle.

Why not the host of Valinor/Aman?

Because (1)it was a host, and (2)it was in Beleriand, (3)fighting on "Beleriand's side", (4)with natives on their side . Just as an observer could call the American army in Europe at late 1944 "the hosts of Western Europe". It could refer to geographical location and political affiliation both. Remember, the War of Wrath lasted several years, and the host of Valinor would be considered "the home team" -- the hosts of Beleriand. I can easily picture people referring to the army in that way.

That's how I see it... he was just being oblique.

They belonged to Valinor, didn't they? We can call the Host of Valinor host of Beleriand If a substantial number of locals participate in the war; yet It wasnt the case and the war was mostly a Valinor/Angband affair. (Except for Earendil, who was a Beleriander in origin)
Elrond and Elros were born circa 530 F.A, so they would have known about the War of the Wrath.

Well, the "theater of operations" was Beleriand (else why was it so utterly destroyed?); and the remnants of Elves and Men fought on the side of the Valar, not only Eärendil (I remember distinctly a quote saying that the Edain fought with the Valar while the other men did not, and "the Elves never forgot it", or something like that).

It is a quoteless theory . Just a way to interpret Elrond's words without ascribing "bragging" or "hallucination". I have no idea whether it is correct or not.

I know that Edain fought on the side of Host of Valar, but the chief element in the war were the Valinorian armies, not the Edain.
I mentioned Earendil because his was the greatest feat a Beleriander achieved during the War of Wrath.

Only Men fought in the War of Wrath - so Eärendil was an exception as no Elves participated in that war.

I think your first quote refers to the march of the host, ithrynluin, not to the war proper... I can't imagine the remnants of the Noldor (Maedhros & Co.) staying on the sidelines -- and neither can I imagine the remnants of the Sindar (Círdan & Co.) doing the same. Especially if the remnants of the Edain (much weaker and in smaller numbers than the Beleriand Elves, presumably) were fighting.

Sure the main element was the army from Valinor, even if enlarged by the remaining men and elves of Beleriand. But the question is -- could this army be named "the host of Beleriand" at some moment in the long war?

I think it could. But I can be wrong. I don't have any quotes to further it.

Yes but that hints at something. If it referred to the March of the Host of Valinor from Valinor, excluding the peoples of ME, there would be no need to say 'for among them went none of those Elves who had dwelt and suffered in the Hither Lands, and who made the histories of those days that still are known; '. I am certain that 'the march of the host of the Valar to the north of Middle-earth refers to their marching from wherever they landed in Middle Earth to Angband, not from Valinor to Angband. So there were no 'Middle-Earth Elves' in the WoW.

Why, you just have to keep on reading immediately after that quote to see that it is not so:

But at the last the might of Valinor came up out of the West, and the challenge of the trumpets of Eönwë filled the sky; and Beleriand was ablaze with the glory of their arms, for the host of the Valar were arrayed in forms young and fair and terrible, and the mountains rang beneath their feet.
So the march ended "when the might of Valinor came up out of the West"; and at that moment "Beleriand was ablaze with the glory of their arms".

The march from the West to Beleriand was unwitnessed by any Beleriand Elves, that is the meaning of the quote; but "at last" the host "came up out of the West", and "Beleriand was ablaze". It is clear enough to me that the March began at Valinor and ended at Beleriand.

What were Círdan and Maedhros doing then?

Also, why would the Elves "not forget" about the men who fought on the other side if they themselves were cravenly hiding in the background while the war was being fought? I don't think that the Elves who "did not forget" were the Vanyar. It is, clearly, an allusion to the estrangement between Men and Elves in Middle-Earth. So how could the Elves be so angry if they themselves did not fight?

Just to conclude on the original topic, then:
Eärendil participated in the War of Wrath, and both his sons were old enough to participate, so therefore, Elrond could very well have been speaking the truth as I first quoted?

Concerning the participation of the Elves of Middle-earth, it is of course open to speculation, but the way I read it, I have to agree with ithrynluin. They didn't participate.

It is always either the Host of the West, or the Host of the Valar.

hmm... I really can't see it. "These things" in your quote is related to the March, Arvedui, not to the war. And Eönwë summoned the Elves of Beleriand to Valinor after the War was over -- he could not very well summon them before it.

Sorry guys, but the participation of the Elves of Beleriand in the war is still obvious to me, for the reasons explained in my last post.

What is doubtful is whether the hosts coud be called "the Host of Beleriand".

Just to conclude on the original topic, then:
Eärendil participated in the War of Wrath, and both his sons were old enough to participate, so therefore, Elrond could very well have been speaking the truth as I first quoted?
Elrond and Elros were born around FA 530. According to HoME XI, the War of Wrath lasted 545-587, with the First Age ending in 590. Given that Elves reach adulthood at the age of 50, the chances that Elrond was present at the War are slim at best. But it's not impossible.

The quote you provided doesn't prove anything either way. The quote I provided makes an explicit mention of Men participating, but there is not even a single word on the Elves of Beleriand. The quote therefore speaks in favour of the premise that the Elves of Middle Earth did not participate. Now this is not necessarily my own view, I would think it more logical that the Elves of ME DID fight this last battle, to oust the foe that has dealt them so much damage and sorrow.

He summoned now all Elves, Men, Dwarves, beasts and birds unto his standard, who did not elect to fight for Morgoth. Fionwe (=Eönwë), whilst camping beside Sirion, does summon all the creatures of ME to join him and make a last stand against Morgoth. But many didn't join out of fear of Morgoth. Now did the remnant of the Sindar and the Noldor join? Perhaps, but it is unclear.

ell, it is good that you are not adamant in the belief that the Elves of Beleriand did not take part. This makes absolutely no sense in my opinion -- but you are right, I don't think it is proven one way or the other.

However, the quote I provided showed only that "the March" that was alluded in your quote ended in the beginning of the War, for when this March was over "the trumpets sounded the challenge, and Beleriand was ablaze..." So that the period without Beleriand witnesses to recount the story is over at this moment, leaving more than 40 years for the Elves of Beleriand to "get on the stage". That, of course, does not mean that they DID get on the stage by then; but it means that they COULD have.

The house of Beör was wiped out, the house of Hador composed mainly of women and children. The Haladin, only?), tremendously weakened, fought. And I think that the fact that the Elves "did not forget" about the Easterlings says a lot, too. If they were cowards who did not want to fight on the side of the Valar, their hope for so many centuries, I don't think they would be so mad at the men from the east.

I don't think Maedhros and Maglor, who would soon be challenging the Valar themselves for the Silmarils, were afraid to fight against Morgoth. Remember who sired them . Sure, "many" did not answer the summons, but I don't think this can be taken to mean that ALL Elves of Beleriand stood aside for 40 years while the war was raging.

The male lines of Hador, Beor weren't Completely wiped out and some of the Haladian including Drudeain obviously remained after the war of the Wrath.

I have always taken the quote (referring to Eonwe and the host of Valinor) as a reference that the Elves of Middle-earth were specifically excluded from fighting in the War of Wrath. You had the forces of Melkor/Morgoth on one side and the forces of Valinor on the other. The Valinorean force was composed of Maia and Eldar (Vanyar and Noldor loyal to Finarfin). I never thought that the Elves of Beleriand participated. The quote makes specific reference to the fact that no Elves who dwelt in the area oustide of Valinor were aware of what happened during the War of Wrath.

How could tidings have only been learned afterwards from the Aman kinsman, if Elves of Beleriand participated in the Battles?? That very statement makes it seem a fact to me that no Elves of Middle-earth fought in the battle.

The wild men that guided the Rohirrim were actually Woses, or Druedain; a unique race of men, skilled in woodcraft and stealth, but living primitively. There is a whole chapter in Unfinished Tales on them. As John earlier state, the wild men at Helm's Deep were Dunlendings.

Drúedain
The Drúedain are a fictional race of Men which were counted amongst the Edain, who made their way into Beleriand in the First Age, and were friendly to the Elves. They are part of the Middle-earth legendarium, created by J. R. R. Tolkien.
The Drúedain called themselves Drughu. When the Drúedain settled in Beleriand, the Sindarin Elves adapted this to Drû (plurals Drúin, Drúath) and later added the suffix -adan "man", resulting in the usual Sindarin form Drúadan (plural Drúedain).[1] Tolkien also used the form Drûg, with a regular English plural Drûgs.[2]

The appearance of the Drúedain is entirely different from the appearance of the other races of the Middle-earth legendarium. They are a bit like Dwarves in stature and endurance, stumpy, clumsy-limbed (with short, thick legs, and fat, "gnarled" arms), had broad chests, fat bellies, and heavy buttocks. According to the Elves and other Men, they had "unlovely faces": wide, flat, and expressionless with deep-set black eyes that glowed red when angered. They had "horny" brows, flat noses, wide mouths, and sparse, lank hair. They had no hair lower than the eyebrows, except for a few men who had a tail of black hair on the chin. They were short lived and had a deep hatred of Orcs. They were known to have certain magical powers and to be still in meditation for long periods of time.

The Drûgs were the first to migrate from the site where Men awoke, in the east of Middle-earth. A band lived among the Second House of Men, the Haladin, in the First Age in the forest of Brethil, whence the Elves came to know and love them. Although a number of the Drúedain came with the Edain to Númenor, they had left or died out before the Akallabêth, as had the Púkel-men of Dunharrow. At the end of the Third Age the Drûgs still lived in the Drúadan Forest of the White Mountains, and on the long cape of Andrast west of Gondor. The region north of Andrast was still known as Drúwaith Iaur, or "Old Drûg land".
The term Púkel-men used by the Rohirrim was also applied to the fearsome statues constructed by the Drúedain to guard important places and homes; some evidently had the power to come to life.[5] Because of their ugly appearance and frightening statues the Drúedain were feared and loathed by other Men of the region; they were considered little better than Orcs, and there was much enmity between those peoples.
Nevertheless the Drúedain of Ghân-buri-Ghân's clan came to the aid of the Rohirrim during the War of the Ring. A large company of Orcs had been sent to the Drúadan Forest to waylay the host of Rohan as it made its way to the aid of Gondor. It was the Drúedain who held off the Orcs with poisoned arrows whilst they guided the Rohirrim through the forest by secret paths. Without their help the Rohirrim would not have arrived at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, and Sauron would likely have triumphed. As a result the Drúedain gained the respect of other Men, and King Elessar granted the Drúadan Forest "forever" to them in thanks.
The Drúedain are reminiscent of the mythological woodwoses, and like them their relic status and physical description are similar to the typical depiction of Neanderthals.

Eärendil the Mariner (pronounced [ɛaˈrɛndil]) is a fictional character in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth legendarium. He is depicted in The Silmarillion as a great seafarer who, on his brow, carried the morning star across the sky.
Etymology

Eärendil means 'Lover of the Sea' in Tolkien's invented language of Quenya. However, Tolkien borrowed the name from Old English literature. Tolkien states (Letters, 297) that the name comes from Anglo-Saxon éarendel. He was struck by its "great beauty" c. 1913, which he perceived as
entirely coherent with the normal style of A-S, but euphonic to a peculiar degree in that pleasing but not 'delectable' language.
There is a poem by Tolkien dated to 1914 entitled "The Voyage of Eärendel the Evening Star" (published in The Book of Lost Tales 2 267–269). Tolkien was also aware of the name's Germanic cognates (Old Norse Aurvandill, Lombardic Auriwandalo), and the question why the Anglo-Saxon one rather than the Lombardic or Proto-Germanic form should be taken up in the mythology is alluded to in The Notion Club Papers. The Old Norse together with the Anglo-Saxon evidence point to an astronomical myth, the name referring to a star, or a group of stars, and the Anglo-Saxon in particular points to the morning star as the herald of the rising Sun (in Crist Christianized to refer to John the Baptist).

I have also heard the word Golem for some kind of human "monster". Someone who has turned into a state of mind that is not at all positive for anyone.

Had a horrible nightmare

Had a horrible nightmare about a dentist chair in a swimmingpool and a sperm whale eating the one sitting in the dentist chair. It migt have to do with lust. Nitrous oxide is in swedish called lust gas. I do not know what the dream is about exactly but I got really worried about the man sitting in the dentist chair in the dream.

The dream made me think that I will NOT go to the dentist for a very long time and NOT go for a swim for a very long time.
