the Sea of Monsters. I like this book because it’s funny and it’s exciting with battles ( and monsters) and a likable main character. It has a good plot and always tries to make it funny. It almost sort of like taking a greek lesson because of the greek theme and the greek characters. ( I mean ancient greek). SECOND BOOK REPORT. Another one of the books I read was the Silmarillion, all the information and stories behind the lord of the Rings books. It even mentions Morgoth, the first dark lord. I think the silmarillion is a good idea because it gives us fans more of Lord of the Rings, and sometimes you get mixed up with names while reading Lord of the Rings so its good you have a novel that is actually much simpler. One of the reasons I really liked it is because it’s so much simpler, and I liked reading it because you know that Morgoth was more powerful than Sauron so it might be less talking and more action, like wars and sieges against Morgoth. I would give the silmarillion ten out of ten and The Sea of Monsters eight out of ten.


LORD OF THE RINGS, THE RETURN OF THE KING
February 26th, 2011

I finished reading the last part of the lord of the rings, the return of the king, a long time ago. SPOILERS AHEAD. Pippin and Gandalf the White arrive at Gondor to meet with Denethor, the steward king. The true king had been lost long ago, and so the stewards rule for the king until a king of Gondor comes. Shortly after, Sauron launches a siege of Gondor, and the Lord of the Nazgul, captain of Sauron himself comes. By a stroke of luck Eowyn and Merry manage to destroy him, but still doom is near. They anger at the massive attack on Gondor and find new strength and allies and they attack the hosts of Sauron with renewed anger and rage. Denethor, beholding ( as he sees it) the ruin of Gondor and the doom of middle earth he turns mad and orders his servants to fetch wood and oil to burn him and his son Faramir alive. Gandalf stops them from destroying Faramir, but Denethor could not be stopped. Merry, Faramir and Eowyn went to the houses of healing to be healed ( even if that was not expected) by Aragorn, the heir of Isildur. After that they headed with a mighty company towards the dark tower. Sam, meanwhile found Frodo being tortured by orcs. Sam and Frodo blended into the army with their orc clothes and headed toward mount doom to destroy the ring but are attacked by Gollum. The army of Gandalf, however are attacked by a army led by a powerful servant of Sauron. All is saved when the ring of doom is thrust into mount doom, the dark lord fades, his armies quail and his tower crumbles. After the hobbits get home, they have to deal with Saruman, who is out for revenge, and a few ruffians. There’s a happy ending for such a tale though, and Sam has a wife and a daughter and Frodo passes away peacefully into the gray havens.


LORD OF THE RINGS, THE TWO TOWERS

I finished reading the the second part of the lord of the rings some time ago. It tells about the downfall of Saruman and the journey to Mordor. The ring bearer Frodo and his servant Sam are brought to the gate of Mordor by the evil and treacherous Gollum, the only one who could bring them to Mordor to destroy the one ring. WARNING, SPOILERS AHEAD! They are betrayed by Gollum, who, with the help of Shelob, a monster spider, tries to steal the one ring which he once owned. Saruman the white extends all his power, ( and his army of half orcs) to destroy Rohan. The men of Rohan and the riders of king Theoden win and journey to talk with the evil Saruman in Isengard. Merry and Pippin, two hobbits, are captured by a portion of Saruman’s orcs and are almost brought to Isengard, but a part of Theodens army sees the orcs. A traitorous orc thinks that Merry has the ring and tries to kill him, but a rider spots him and shots him. He does not see Merry and Pippin, Who escape to meet the wise sage Treebeard, an ent and one time friend of Saruman before he turned evil. The ents attack Saruman’s home base in Isengard, and meet a traitorous advisor to the king, Grima the wormtounge. When Theoden and the wizard Gandalf arrive they discover Isengard in ruins. Saruman tries to persuade Gandalf to join with him but Gandalf refuses and breaks Saruman’s staff. Sam thinks Frodo is dead after a savage blow from Shelob, the orcs of the dark lord Sauron capture Frodo and Sam learns that Frodo is alive but captured. Even if he doesn’t know it, the dark lord has the one ring.


NINJAGO, LEGO

The newest lego theme, lego Ninjago, has two sides of the conflict. The ninjas: Cole, Zane, Kai, Jay and Sensei Wu, and Garmadon and his skeleton warriors:Frakjaw, Krazi, Chopov, Bonezai, Nuckal, Samukai and Garmadon. The sets are: the Turbo Shredder, the Ice Dragon Attack, the Spinjitzu Dojo, the Ninja Training Outpost, the Ninja Ambush, Nuckal’s ATV, the Skull Motorbike and Garmadon’s Dark Fortress. And a bunch of Ninjago battle sets which I’m not interested in. Here are their elemental powers: Earth, Ice, Fire, Lightning and Creation. Here are Garmadon’s and his minion’s powers: Fire, Lightning, Earth, Ice, Lightning, Fire and Destruction. Garmadon, Sensei Wu and Samukai are the rarest minifigures. Here are pictures of Samukai and Nuckal. Nuckal is the one on the bottom and Samukai is on the top. Nuckal is the skeleton general and Samukai is the king of the underworld.

IMG_4157This is a portion of my HUGE minifigure army. As you can see, the trolls, the knights, the dwarves and the trolls, my favourite minifigures, are at the front. There are 117 minifigures in all on the grey plate. As well as Wampas, Giant trolls and dragons.

One Ring to Rule Them all

Hi! I just finished reading the lord of the rings, part one. This is a special time for me because I’ve read plenty of child and teenager books, but this is my first adult book I’ve read. The book starts out pretty slowly but it gets better as the reader progresses. The full legend of the rings is pretty good: Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky. Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for the Mortal Men doomed to die, One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie. One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them In the Land of Mordor where the shadows lie. The dark lord, Sauron, has the One Ring to rule them all and is trying to rule over all. But hopefully the hero of this story will prevail.
